987 S Lowering thoughts
 

Well the '08 987 S is a few weeks away and I thought I might have the dealer (Brumos Porsche, Jacksonville FL) lower it before I pick it up.

They gave me a choice of either H&R or Porsche Euro springs and the cost with a re-aligment, etc. will be about $1700-1800 - thoughts? Due to liability issues, I cannot buy the parts myself and bring them in.

Also, if it gets lowered about 1" front/back, should I get spacers and if so, what size? I do not need to have the tires extend right to the wheel well edge but I don't want them to look funny by sitting too far in. And I am not sure what they will charge for spacers, etc.

PS - An installed clear bra will cost me $695 from them - thoughts?

I have the clear bra on mine....I think it has spared me a a lot of rock chips...There is one spot where the plastic was chipped at but the paint looks like its good underneath...plus its really easy to clean....

Bob, I think you should drive the car a few months before you decide to do any mods.

Yeah, I thought about driving it a bit first but I only want it lowered for cosmetic reasons...looks better with less room above the tires. But I have owned lowered cars before and many had very firm/harsh rides so no concerns. I just thought that if I plan to do it I might as well get it done right away; however, the price they want seems a bit steep.

PS - The car is Guards Red/Black.
