Water In Oil Filler Cap
Hi
Before I go into a cold sweat, can any of you offer suggestions ? I have a Y2000 S in the UK with just over 50K on the clock. I checked the oil today, and there were drops of water (not cream cheese) in the oil filler cap, and some condensation adjacent to the filler. The car hadn't been used for a couple of days. Oil and coolant levels seem OK. I wiped it all away, and went out in it, covering about 100 miles. I checked the cap again when I got back, and there was more water in it. My first thought was head gasket, but on reflection, and looking at other posts, there does seem to be an issue with condensation. Is it a problem and can anything be done about it ? Thanks in advance for any help / soothing words.. |
Don't mess around with it. Take it to a professional for diagnosis.
It could be the oil cooler according to a mechanic I talked to. |
