window dropping problem

I just had this problem last night.
I've read the solution from this forum but i'm still not sure what the real solution is.
here it is...
when i open the door the window doesn't drop for 1/4" so it stuck with the frame.
But when i close it, it is automatically goes up.
Is that the regulator problem or anyone has other solutions?
thanks

I have the exact opposite problem, my passenger window drops when I open the door by the 1/4 inch but it does not go back up automatically. I have to manually raise the window each time on my 987 2007. The dealer actually said that the auto up feature was not installed on that car, I then showed them how every Boxster on the lot except mine functioned normally they are now looking into the problem...

The window up and down position has to be programmed any time you loose power (remove battery).
Maybe your car needs it.
The Owner's Manual explains how, but IIRC you:
Raise the window manually to the top.
Lower it manually to the bottom
Raise it up again and double click the up switch
Lower it completely and double click the down switch
Now it should go all the way up and come all the way down.
Happy Boxstering,
Pedro
