New Litronic.....Still Yellow??

So I take the plunge and install 2 nice new litronic headlights complete with wiring harness and module to adjust the low beam/high beam combination. Bought them from SunCoast Porsche for $1400.

The installation went well, but after all that I find out that the hight beam is not litronic?? It's a standard yellow light? Is that right or did I not install something right??

That's right- the high beam is not xenon, just the low beam. The 986 litronics are not bi-xenons.

HID headlamps burn more yellow when new. They should blue up after a little usage.

986/996 Litronics are not bi-xenon, so yes you have a standard halogen high beam. Enjoy the xenon lows.

Hmm, my high beams and low beams are the same bulb. It just raises up for high beam. I thought that's how all of the xenons worked.

I'm looking for headlights for my car, so just a "bump" for this thread. Can anyone answer the question of the different bulbs - to enable the high beam, is it just the one bulb that moves, or is it a separate bulb? Or are there two types of 986 litronics?

in advance..
