Engine misfiring and dying at startup

This used to happen one a month but now it happens almost everyday. When I start the car ( after it had been sitting for atleast 8 hours), the car engine would misfire and turn off. After the third time I start the car, everything is back to normal and the engine would be smooth like nothing happened. Any explanation for that behavior?

Did you recieve an offline answer for this one ?

Curious as to what was causing the issue.

Not yet, my friend told me it's moisture building up overnight. After few times of trying the car starts up like nothing happened. It's weird.

Further proof of the old saying "the third time is the charm." I had a Lumina with pretty much the same sickness. You essentially had to reboot the engine computer three times before it would start. Not twice, and never four times. Always three.
