1st and 2nd gear changes 2003 BOTOX facelift boxster
 

Hello all,

my 2003 facelift "botox" boxster requires focus when changeing from 1st to 2nd gear , or vice verse. After a Porsche delaer general 12k Mile service the gearbox was much easir however problem has returned....

Is this why lots of people buy the short shift kits to overcome bad gear change design of oem unitys or???

A short shift kit will make it worse, not better.

I have a 97 and the 1-2 and 2-1 shifts when the tranny fluid is cold are stiff and hard to engage. However, after the car warms up, it's not that hard. 1st and 2nd are not that smooth compared to 3-5.

There are some cable links at the back of the tranny (at the top of the back end of it) that go to the shifter that you may want to inspect. Mine have been zip tied in place because they worked their way out and shifting became very hard to do.
