Location for crossovers

I'm still playing around with my car stereo and still haven't decided where to put my crossovers for my new 3-way speakers.

Looking at the dash, there is a large gap behind the storage trays (not my car, borrowed it from another thread):

What's the unit with the orange plug?

Would this be an OK location for the crossovers or are there too many other electronics that could cause some interference there?

Yes, there is a good bit of room where you're talking, I mounted my iPod module up there.
