My new (to me) Boxster won't start!

Just bought this car two weeks ago, 99 Boxster Red/Blk, 29k miles. Yesterday, for the first time, the car would turn over but not start. After about 5 tries, it finally started. Today, same thing, but I only tried it a few times & gave up. Seems like no gas to me, but tank is half full. Is there anything that I can easily check, rather than having it towed?

Thanks,

If your gas gage is broken it may appear half full even though it is not. Start it and let it run for 10-15 minutes and if it stalls there's no gas. Other than that it can be sensors, plugs, fuel pump, vacuum seal, etc. If it's not gas, have it checked out.

My first boxster had that problem at a more severe level. The dealership tried to fix a stuck float issue and left the clip of the internal pickup hose in the fuel tank. The hose fell off when I was excellerating through a light in second gear. My dream car died and would not start again....less than two week old. Anyway, I digress.....perhaps the pickup tube is collapsing in yours? Oh..by the way..my new boxster is awesome and it should be with all the titanium the dealership threw in for free! Heh heh...
