Tips on removing springs? Need to install lowering springs.

Wondering if anyone has tips on how to remove the springs so that I can install my Ruf springs. One would think if I can afford these I surely can afford to pay someone to do this. Well, I have the car on stands already and am afraid to have anybody else touch it. I have an intercooler under my transmission!!
I started last night (on the rears).
Took the three nuts of the top (obviously the wheel is off).
The sway bar is freed also.
Next? Remove the screw holding the bottom end of shock?
Should it drop easily or will I need to remove hub?

I swear. Once I get this done and ease the Boxster on to the ground, I'll start posting on the turbos.
