Hood closed, nothing working!

Left my car in the garage for 5 months, and the battery is completely dead. I tried the whole jumper cables in the fuse box thing several times, with 4 different batteries, to no avail. I bought one of the cigarette lighter chargers. It's been charging for 24 hours and the hood still will not open. So I read the posts about an emergency release cable and was very excited, until I spent 2 hours looking for it with no luck. Does anyone have any idea what I can do? I cannot afford to have my car towed and taken apart. Please help!

I had the same problem but was able to buy a charger at sears that charged my battery through the cigarette charger.

Did you get the hood open?
