Very common issue with older boxsters, the bushings on the horn frame have worn, a quick search of the forum turns up a couple previous discussions with helpful information:

Please HELP! Horn going off on its own
Horn doesn't stop Honkin...

I used to have an Audi that had that problem it was the wire in the steering wheel that was loose. At that time the air bags where not around so it was yanking the cover wheel from the steering wheel and reattaching correctly. It should nothing to repair but as with all Porsche repairs expect a bill that will defy logic and understanding.

That's the funniest thing I've ever heard. I don't know what the fix is but I suggest you wave to the people next time it happens....they'll just think you're a nice guy.

LOL nice. when that was happening to me, i would just act suprised and look behind me and pretend it was someone else.

YUP is the bushings on the horn ring alright...same thing happened to me. Funny thing was it started in middle of slow traffic and everytime the guy in front advanced a little and stopped, so did I and my car went beep!, then a little more and then beep!. The guy in front almost jumped me because he thought I was busting is b..lls  . You can remove the horn fuse to avoid bodily injury until you find a replacement.

The horn ring is more like an aluminum basket with four rubber rings on the corners and holds the airbag in the center. Needless to say, be very careful replacing it. I've found great replacement in ebay for about $25.00.

Haha you guys are funny. :D
Fortunately I discovered my horn issue when there was nobody else around to care.
Here are a couple pics of the horn frame removed from the wheel plus a close up with the DIY silicone fix:

How long did you let the silicone cure before you reassembled the horn assembly?

When I was a kid my mother had a VW Bug that the horn went off every time she made a right turn. It used to scare the crap out of people standing on the cross walk corner. :D :D :D
