Hood Badge

I had someone rip off my hood badge on my boxster. The prongs together with the mounting nuts still are in my hood. Any suggestions on removing them with as little damage done to the hood as possible?

Open your hood and remove the nuts, they are on the underside.

Am I missing something...

Helps to have 2 people. One to turn the 8 mm nut and the other to grab the broken mounting stud with pliers. Not much to grab on to but it can be done.

MRM -- the hood badge is gone. Without that, the prongs just spin. Thanks for your response, though. (The picture below sent by tool pants below should explain it). Tool thanks for the tip. I tried this technique by myself and quit (I was afraid of scratching the hood). I'll try it with a buddy.

You can also drill out the studs. Grip the back to steady it and then use a center punch to make a dimple in the very center for the drill bit to start in (you don't want it wandering). Use a drill that matches the stud diameter and you should end up with a "washer" on the drill bit and a nearly undamaged hole in the hood.

BTW, go easy on the hammer/punch as you don't want to dent the hood surface!
