Blowing Smoke
I NEED HELP! My '99 Boxster is blowing a steady stream of white/gray smoke out the exhaust and my mechanics are stumped. they have changed the oil seperator, checked compression, and run through mosy everything. now they are telling me that it may be a bad valve at the crank case? any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

question for those more expert but generally doesn't white smoke mean water/coolant while blueish gray means oil.
|
Yeah, white smoke usually means coolant is mixing in with the oil. Not a good thing. I would put my money on a slipped cylinder sleeve considering the year.
