I had my car on Imagine Auto's AWD Mustang Dyno yesterday. Here are the results of my 2000 2.7 with Maxspeed Motorsports Headers. Che's muffler, and EVO intake. I pulled 209HP and 172TQ at the wheels. The guys at IA said thats about 245-250HP at the crank. So I am guessing thats about 25-30HP gained. Just wanted to share.

Their estimates sound about right to me if you're calculating approximately 15% drivetrain loss.... Nice numbers by the way... in case you didn't take a baseline, my 2002 2.7 got approximately 195hp at the wheels with a stock motor, only mod being a desnorkle. So about a 14whp difference with your goodies... how's the power delivery feel compared to stock?

Theres a differrence, I didn't do it all at once so I cant say how much. What kind of Dyno did you run on? I ask because stock WHP should be about 180-185 on a 2.7

Oh okay.. Yeah, I did it on a Dynapack Chassis Dynamometer... On this run here, I got 194.9whp, and 175.2TQ...

don't forget the desnorkle has been dyno tested to gain 5-6 horsepower :)

Yes they sell headers for 2000-2004 with 4x oxygen sensors. Go to their ebay store or call them direct which is what I did. $600 shipped to the door.

Chaudanova, My real question is would I put up better #'s on the dyno that you ran on? I have read some threads saying that those dyno's read higher #'s than a Mustang Dyno. I wonder why Imagine Auto and Evolution Motorsports, 2 of the biggest porsche tuners in the country use the mustang dyno?

Chaudanova, those are impressive #'s for a stock 02 2.7L. I've read 986 and 996's have a rather large variance in hp output from the factory. Looks like you got a strong one. Nothing done but a desnork you say?

Mustang dynos introduce tyre interfaces that skew results. Tyre growth, heat, and adhesion (and sometime lack thereof) typically yield inaccurate results. The dynapack units bolt directly to the hubs and remove tyre interface variables. This is one of the the reasons why manufacturers like Porsche, Toyota, Mazda and Daimler use the same dynos in their testing. As a scientist, it was important to me as well to have extremely accurate and repeatable results....that is why I spent so much to purchase this type of dynamometer: more than any mustang dyno. Many manufacturers and factory teams also use my facility for testing...even though I am not the "Biggest" porsche tuner... :)

The only Dynapacks that have read relatively higher were the pre 2003 units with different calibrations. Ours and thousands of newer units, have different "lower" calibrations that have shown a 1~2% lower readings than Dynojets.

Your best bet would have been to baseline, then test your modifications.

I have no idea about dyno's, which one is better. But I do know a # of people that have dynoed 2.7's and none of them have put up 195HP with no mods except a desnorkle. That just seems a little high for stock.

So rule1, have you put these headers on yet and are you getting CEL's? Their listing says that CEL's were triggered on their test car.

Yes, I have had them on for about 3 weeks only about 300 miles and I have NO CEL. My car only has 22,000 miles on it. (Nello) the owner of maxspeed motorsports has had a CEL on his 2002 2.7 and his is a daily driver I believe and I think he might have alot more miles than me. I was thinking he might just have a bad O2 sensor. You have to be very careful when you remove the O2 sensors they are very sensitive. Anyways I will keep updated if I pop a CEL. Maxspeeds headers are very nice, I was very happy when I saw the quility of these headers.

Steveoo, you might have a problem with 2nd cat bypass. I still have 2nd cats.

Most important than figurs on the dyno, how does it feel?
Barely notice it or you can feel the difference?

Im looking just now inthi a Intake ECU programing and Exhaust, but sooo many poster say its a waste of money, I want to hear from people who have done the mods

For example if you used to shift at redline from 2nd to 3rd at 62 mph
Now with the changes that same shift happens at 68 or 70 mph?
