blower motor resistor check?

I have a 98 Boxster and the blower stopped working. It'll blow if the car is not running, but not if the car is running. I think I've narrowed it down to the blower motor resistor. So I pulled the resistor, but I don't know how to test it. Does anyone know if there is a resistance test for this?

What blower motor are you referring to? The ones used for the radiators? Resistors are checked with an ohm meter.... the values are often printed on the resistor.

Blower motor resistor check

No, the one for the heater/AC blower. There's no values on the resistor. I just wanted to make sure it's bad before I spend $255 on a part I may not need.

Sorry but I can't see how it could be the resistor if it works when the vehicle isn't running..... sounds more like the ignition switch is failing. Try turning the key back some while the car is running to see if the blower works then.
