CEL light -- what could it be?

2 days ago, a CEL light turned on. The message said to take it to the workshop.

Wow, 2 auto-xes this week end.

The next day, I started up and it was gone. No chance to check the error code or anything.

Everything felt perfectly fine. Any idea of what this could have been?

Thanks :)

Without the codes, it's just a guess. Could be the gas cap was loose, a dose of bad gas, the MAF could have detected a lean or rich condition that the computer subsequently corrected, and after a few drive cycles the CEL cleared itself.

Thanks :)

Do you think I should take her in just in case? Time sensitive matter?

The codes should remain in the queue for a few days, so I would suggest you take it in just to solve the mystery.

You can take it to many auto places like AutoZone or AAMCO that will read the codes for free. As long as the CEL wasn't blinking and it went off that quick, it's likely minor, but better safe than sorry.

I've discovered twice now that oil changes will cause my car to flash an 1128 and 1130 approximately 100 miles after the change. No idea why, I clear the code and it never comes back.
