ebay fabspeed looking exhaust

Does anyone have this muffler? It looks identical to a fabspeed but, it doesn't say anything about it in the auction. Does anyone have a sound clip? There's one in the auction but, he's just sitting there at idle or reving it, I want an actual moving video.

The 993 I'm driving right now has a fabspeed and I want my 986 to sound like that. I know it won't sound exactly like it but, the 993 has a deep rumble and it gurgles a bit when you let off the gas. It also has resonance which I like, I realize most people don't though.

exhaust

Email the seller and ask him about who makes the exhaust ;) be careful with ebay products and make sure the seller has a good feedback and reference. You can also contact others that have purchase his exhaust and verify the info and product.

Interesting, the tech section from Maxspeed shows how to modify the mount so you can install a 97-99 (2.5L) on a later model Boxster. Based on what I could see, it kind of suggest to me that you would be able to do the same with another manufactures muffler.

Anyone out there tried?

Thanks

I am kinda new here .. maybe it's just me . but the ebay guy is asking the same price as this fabspeed company so why would you risk it from ebay ??

The link I provided isn't Fabspeed,it's Maxspeed's website. Maxspeed basically took the Fabspeed design, made minor changes, put it in production for less then 1/2 the cost of Fabspeed's.

I'm curious also but, no I don't want to be the guinea pig. cheapest I've found the fabspeed for is $1095 vs. the $599 for this knockoff.

but something tells me "you get what you pay for".

well neither one really give you any noticeable difference, like lets say 50hp, so spending double isnt really the best idea, especially if the only changes they made are some hanges and whatnot, im sure they got the fabspeed one opened up and made the exact same thing and sell under diff name

If anyone gets it be sure to post back with a review.

I believe 986jim is a member on this board too.

At the end of his video clip there is a 10 second in cabin 2nd gear pull.

Deeper tone, seems like 5-10% louder than stock, no resonance or buzzing.

I like a little more noise myself. :P Probably going to order the oettle muffler.

Blinkwatt-

PM box cleaned up, sorry about that.
