Thumbs up EVO Swift Shifter Installation

Installed a new EVO Swift Shifter in my 987. I was looking to shorten the 1,3,and 5 shift throws and firm up the feel a bit. I was concerned a regular short shifter might be a bit too much reduction so I went with the EVO Swift Shifter.

Installation went as follows:
1) 1 Hr prep time – un-package, set up tools, read instructions, prep car. Unit came with no instructions. I had to revert to messages board threads for installation instructions.
2) 1.5 Hrs to disassemble center console – took extra care not to scratch anything.
3) 1 Hr to install new components to shift box.
4) 1 Hr to re-assemble center console
5) 1 Hr to test out installation and clean up.

Total time 5.5 hours. My hats off to those people who do it in 1 to 2 hours.

Results:
1) Forward shift throws on gears 1, 3, and 5 reduced 29% (1 inch)
2) Neutral location back approximately 10% ( 0.5 inch)
3) Gears 2, 4 and R no change 0%
4) Shifter free play tightened up nicely.
5) Shifting from 3rd to 4th gear has the best feel to it.
6) To me, shifting does not feel notchy just quicker.
7) 1, 3, and 5 gear over extension I would feel sometimes when shifting to these gears is eliminated.

Overall, I very happy with the results.
