Convertible top intermittent operation

Hi guys,

Worst kind of problem. Yesterday, after I pulled on the handbrake and tried to raise the roof, I pressed the button and nothing happened. Na da, nothing. Just that click from the switch itself.

I pulled the handbrake up and down a few times but again nothing. I also checked the fuses, but everything looked OK. So I did the best thing possible in that situation; drove the car into the garage and went to the pub to mull over the problem.

Late last night, got home, went into the garage, put the key in the ignition, moved the handbrake up and down a couple of times, and hey presto, it engaged and the roof raised as if nothing was wrong.

To me that says the problem might be the actuator switch for the roof mechanism.

Is that an easy to get to part, or do I need to take it into the garage?

Has anyone else had a similar problem?
