Air lock issue
I have a 2001 2.7 boxster that has sat for a long time without a radiator (now replaced and sealed up). I've filled the system as best I can with a coolant/water mix and tried to cycle it through a few times to allow the air to escape but can not seem to remove it all. How can I purge the air from the cooling system?
Thanks in advance for the advice! Joe D. |
This may help:
http://www.dietersmotorsports.com/tech/tech9-03-2003.htm The tank has a release valve on top of the tank, it takes some fiddling with to get to it; remove your dipstick, oil cap, and anti freeze fill cap [you are familiar with that by now]. Under that little plastic plate is a bleeder valve which has a ring on it, you lift the ring to allow the air to escape. If I missed something, someone will correct me. Sorry I don't have Pic's right now for you, if you really need Pic's let me know. I have a spare tank and can shoot it for you. Scott |
Scott, Thanks! I'll look at it today and see if I can finish the job! I also decovered I have a bad bearing on the right rear.....no service manual or information handy. Do you know if the bearing is pressed in or ????, any links to bearing replacement you can send along?
Thanks again for the help! Joe D. |
