No direct experience, but similar. I, too, do a lot of work on my Boxster, and we purchased a Cayenne as the wife wanted an SUV again.
i've done suspension, replaced the hydraulic pump (pretty involved job) and basic oil service and coils and plugs. I think your skills will transfer well.
