Thanks.

My brother took a short video on Sunday evening when I took my wife for the first ride in it. The sound is worth it. Turn it up, it's short.

Beautiful car, Maytag. More importantly, great story! Congrats on achieving your childhood dream. Or should I say, "Auguri!" I hope it exceeds all your expectations. I also hope you'll stick around! Even though I have 5 years on you, you'll still be Uncle Fester to me! :D:D

Best wishes!

F1.
If the weather is good, I'm taking it to the track on Wednesday.
If the weather is IFFY, I'll take the 986 beast.

Pretty surreal I get to say that.

1st world problems. ;-)

I'm reminded to thank God frequently, and "love my neighbor" constantly.

Thank you. I'm humbled that your 2nd post was in this thread, to tell me you like it.

This thread could use an update, I guess. I've added about 5000 miles to the car so far this summer. The general rule of thumb on this car, is to expect $2/mile in depreciation. BUT: that's only true up to about 30k miles, and after that, condition becomes more important than mileage. Condition should speak for itself in the photos. :D

In the meantime:
I've taken terminally-ill people to the racetrack, or through the canyons.
I've paraded it around for a birthday-party for a child of a coworker.
I've taken several septuagenarians for the thrill-ride of their lives.
And I've given away over 30 1:24-scale replicas of the car to various 8-12-yr-old's who have asked if they could look at my car.

AND - I've gone rallied her at the track a couple of times.
here's some audible enjoyment... turn the sound up.

And here's me on FB Live, talking my peeps through a session.
