Greetings from Stuttgart

It's a beautiful morning in Stuttgart. About to head to the museum at Porscheplatz for a couple of hours. Then at 11, the wife is allowing me to get behind the wheel for a 3 hour tour of the zeffenhausen region. Taking a 911 targa from the museum. Pictures and stories to come.

Lucky! Have a great trip, you going to get to drive the ring?

Autobahn traffic is horrible in Stuttgart area, worst in all of Germany from I was told. I hope they're finished with constructions this time of the year.

There was a but of construction, not a horrible amount. We did get to an area where we could really open her up and then took a museum recommended route that took us through some really neat villages and roads along the way. Boy is that car fast. I forgot about the no mobile photo uploads. I'll try to get some pics to photobucket or the like. Museum is definitely not a full day-even as an enthusiast. If you go, book a factory tour as well and some sort of drive. You also get free museum admission with a drive booking and 10 percent off for Porsche club membership. Mercedes also offers 25 percent off their museum with a porsche ticket, but we didn't have time for it as we are headed to munich next.

Mercedes museum is a must see, much better than Porsche museum.

Was just there in May and took a Carrera GTS for 4 days. What a blast! To me able to put the pedal down and hold down for extended periods of time is just awesome. While the autobahn can be fun it’s the secondary roads that are the real fun. I strongly recommend heading south towards the Alps and getting some mountain road driving in. Speaking of the wife you gotta get her to drive too. Certainly makes it easier to justify getting one for a extended period of time. Next time I’m going to take the train straight from Frankfurt to Stuttgart and skip the regular rental and get a Cayman GTS for a week.

Have fun. There’s plenty to do in the Munich area. I been to Germany more times then I can count and I always have a great time.

Just as a reference to future travelers to Stuttgart Germany: try to see the https://sinsheim.technik-museum.de/. It is not to far away in Sinsheim Germany @ 2 hours.

What is this blasphemy? ;)
Add in the Porsche Factory Tour if you’re in Stuttgart, I thought it was fascinating.

I just had a colleague go to the Mercedes museum but skipped Porsche's.
He should have his head checked.
