986 radio dead

I HAVE A 2003 2.7 BOXSTER AND THE BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED
BUT THE RADIO IS NO LONGER WORKING IT COMES UP WITH PORSCHE
ON THE DISPLAY THEN IT MAKES A DIALING TYPE NOISE BUT WILL NOT LOCK ONTO AND PROGRAMES ANY IDEAS

U should have an access code for the radio....4 digit code to unlock the radio. Check ur manual...it might b tucked in there. Its a card about the size of a credit card.

I Under Stand From The Internet That A Code Is Not Required For The Type Cdr23 Fitted To The 2003 Boxster Is This Correct ? If So What Else Could Cause The Problem.
