Loving Life with my 986

Hi everyone. I was in the market for a sports car a few months ago. I really wanted a mid-engine car at a reasonable price, and I decided to look at old 914's and I stumbled upon several Boxsters for sale, and I couldn't believe how inexpensive they were. I didn't know much about them, but I did a lot of reading and decided a base 986 was the way to go, and I found a beautiful 1999 Boxster for sale near where I live. It has 147K miles, but has been well taken care of and, as it turns out, has a new Tiptronic tranny. It also has the 17 inch wheels, which look stunning. I paid 6K for it and have been thoroughly enjoying the experience.

Congratulations. These are great cars but getting long in the tooth. Make sure to take care of any critical issues and stay up on preventive measures and you will hopefully enjoy for a while to come.

As far as your trunk issue (next post), I would check the strength of your hood shocks as well as really lubricate well the locking mechanism as well as the bar on the latch. Good luck…
