Just bought a 2000 Boxster
After 500 miles really enjoying the car! Any recommendations for a newbee? Only mod has been the de-snorkel. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! If you don't have maintenance history documentation for the car, everything is documented on here for big and small maintenance.

Congrats and welcome. I had a 2000S for 10 years and was able to do every repair or maintenance work needed with this forum even though I'm far from an accomplished wrench. The car was extremely reliable, solid and as much fun when I sold it as the day I'd bought it.
Things to think about proactively.... 1. Purchase a spare ignition switch (~$15). A failing switch will cause you to look for all sorts of weird gremlins or worst case, make you unable to start your car. It's not a tough DYI and having one on hand will save you some heartache. 2.Locate and clean your top drains. Zero cost, easy job, yet putting it off can result in a pretty expensive bill (search immobilizer). Lots of other things to learn about but mostly just normal stuff for an older sports car. Enjoy! |
Thanks, I'm a pretty good wrench having worked on my Zodiac 601HD Experimental aircraft! 80HP Rotax engine.
