Tire question/recommendation

I have a '03 Boxster (beautiful Teal Metallic). I recently got a flat on a front tire & didn't realize it in time to save the tire. So I had to get 2 new front tires. :mad:My previous tires were Bridgestone RE760 Sports & I really liked them. Discount Tire told me they are not made anymore & that their computer recommended either a Falken all-season sport or a Bridgestone Potenza RE97 A/S-02. I went with the Bridgestones.

When I went to get them put on & noticed that they looked a lot less sporty than the older tires. Turns out they are all season sport tires. I only drive the car in good weather, but I do live 1 mile up a gravel road in SW Colorado. I don't do any track driving, but do drive on fun, twisty roads & often take road trips (well, before COVID).

Should I keep these more all-weather tires? After I complained they suggested the Potenza RE71Rs as a sportier alternative. But those look like racing tires.

Suggestions, feedback? Thanks

I have all weather Goodyears and only use them for November and then to store the P car in winter. I switch to all summer tires during the summer on Michelins PS2 for sporting; I enjoy summer tires for summer only, not all weather tires because summer tires grip better during spirited driving in summer.

Go to tire rack.com (eliminate space) and search to fit your vehicle. Read some reviews (there will be plenty for Boxster's...) and choose from there. Then either order and have shipped to one of their installers or go see installer directly and ask them to order. I like the latter way b/c then they also make a couple $ on tire sale along w/ install.

Otherwise, I usually like to go with black round ones. At 6,100 miles and just finishing my 4th set I seem to use them a little differently than you. As such, any addl input will not be helpful :D

Good luck :)

Hankook RS-4 is a great longer lasting sport tire. It is a summer tire, so not for use under 40 degrees. Also sumotomo HTR ZIII is a great tire for low cost.
