The JD Power ratings also called Porsche #1 in initial quality just last year unless i'm mistaken.. Also, much like Consumer Reports you have to take that stuff with a grain of salt. What WERE the problems? How serious were they?

And to all those that complain about 'after the warranty ends' costs, then buy an extended warranty. Don't complain a RMS failure costs 2k when that same 2k gets you a warranty. Put away a few bucks a month while the car is under warranty and you can buy one when it's ended. Again, I say look at other websites for enthusiasts for just about any make, you'll find they all have their RMS and they all have people griping about how much things cost to fix once the warranty is gone. If ya don't like the car and you hate what it costs, why do you still have it?

The JD Powers data for THREE YEAR quality ranks Porsche way way down the list. I think the number is #61 but can't recall exactly. There is thread on it here.

Hence, something happens betwee day 90 and day 1100 of thereabouts.

I think it is fine to gripe about the lack of long term reliability of these cars. These cars cost a ton new and I for one expect a higher standard than Porsche appears to deliver.

I read all those threads. :(

Hopefully the 3.2 doesn't have the same problems

I'm not worried. I can always raid the kids' college fund if need be.

Worst case scenario:
My Box stays on the road and my kids join the Army. Hey, it worked for their old man...
