Locked Out...Help!

I have a 2000 Boxster which I locked in the garage while away on vacation. When I returned neither of my remote key fobs would unlock the doors. I called a German Autoworks repair shop and they told me the car battery must be dead and the only way to open the doors was to pry off the right headlight cover and look for a cable wire to pull which would unlock the doors. I could then jump start the car.

Has anyone had a similar problem? What do you use and how do you pry the headlight cover off?

Thanks for any and all help.

Stuck in SoCal.

You should be able to go through the inner fender.

The emergency release cable should be in the right front fender. You might have to fish around a bit.

Dont forget fella's, after so many days sitting idol the cars transponder will shut off to conserve battery power. so you will have to unlock the car with the key in the door, then start the ignition and the transponder will start to work again and receive signal again from your Key fob
