Which Year Boxster has the most issues?

Currently I am researching the Boxster and know that there are issues with all cars in their first year coming out. However, can anyone tell me which year(s) of the Boxster have had a lot of issues as I want to steer away from a troubled car.

Thank you,

Brian

97-99 Boxsters, which havent reached 50,000 miles.

The only Boxsters that have had any problems are the 1997-2008. :)

All of the Carrara White Boxsters have been fine. :D

The late 98 through mid 99 models had engine problems, but most all of those have had engine replacements.

Mike Focke's web site is really helpful. Read through it and you'll learn a lot about the Boxster and which one to buy.

I always tell prospective box owners to buy the newest S they can afford, hopefully one with some factory warranty on it. You can't lose buying the larger engine, better brakes and some warranty.

Generally, you stay away from new models. I would not buy a 97-98 or a 2005.
