Can you add a topic "Detailing for the Porsche Newbie" :)

Please feel free to use my Boxster to work on :D

Should I bring anything to quench ones thirst?

Cleaning supplies?

I have the Raggtop stuff and Plexus. What kind of clothes should I get? Microfibre? Baby diapers? Also, anything needed (brush) for the top cleaning and finishing? Hey, do we need to bring buckets, etc. Or are there enough there? Should we be completely self-contained except for the water, etc. Fill us newbies in Charlie.

Welcome, Matt!

Hmm, I guess I should put a list together shortly. Meanwhile, definitely get rid of those cotton rags and go for microfiber, and a fairly stiff nylon brush is good for cleaning the cavas top. Rey has buckets and hoses for us. Stay tuned for The List, which I'll post and then people can add their own preferred products to.

microfibre at BJs

We haven't bought any at BJs since we already have some, but BJs does have packages of microfibre cloths at a reasonable price. Sorry, didn't pay much attention since we're not currently in need.

But I thought I'd pass on the info. :)

Detailing Day

Charlie,

That's a pretty good list there....

I've a few clean buckets but we could probably use a few more.
2 hoses at my place. We may annex one of my neighbors driveways so we'll have at least another hose.'ve got a ton of detailing supplies that anyone can use but recommend that people bring whatever they would like to try out. I've got at least a dozen micro towels. Also have a trash bag full of various AutoFanatics cotton towels. I use a blade and cotton for washing/drying and micro for removing polish and wax.

We'll be providing BBQ and a couple of sides, beverages etc. If people would like to bring food/drink stuff that's fine but don't feel obligated.

I will also plot out a short backroad drive for us to do if we have time and people feel like it. We've got to show off those clean cars.

Look forward to seeing everyone!

Rey & Juliette
