Cup holder removal?

How do you remove the cup holder? Mine is at the top level, aftermarket stereo below it, Does it just pry out? Some stupid Fk smog guy smashed the passenger side, think i can fix it, if i can get it out, T/Y.

I believe there is a trim surround piece that pops off, just using your fingernails or the like. Once that's removed you should see the screws holding it in that need to be removed.

If you're talking about the one below the vents on the 03 and 04 models, you need to remove the horseshoe trim surround, disconnect all the switches and take out the vents - at least that is what I had to do when I replaced my broken one a few years ago. I think I also had to take out my standard radio and the hvac control panel.

Garage
If a 03 or 04, removing horseshoe should be sufficient for you to see the how it's fitted underneath. The horse shoe snaps of with prying it out semi-gently. Start from the bottom on either side.

Here's a pic from when i installed a gps antenna running through that area:

Found some pictures

Here are some pictures I took when I did mine a few years ago. Underneath the exterior horseshoe trim there was an inner horseshoe frame that also had to come out. To get that second frame out, the radio, HVAC panel and vents all had to come out. In one of the pictures you can see the separate slot that the cupholder sits in.

Since I replaced the broken cupholder, I've never used it again - I bought the one that Suncoast sells that goes in the center arm rest compartment!
