Another Frankenboxster. Yeah or nay?

I say nay, especially at that price. Sheesh.

Custom 2000 Porsche Boxster

Facelift Jag S-type dash? What the ****************?

pothole 01-21-2014 08:28 AM

OK, the interior pic is clear of a different car!

Perfectlap 01-21-2014 08:32 AM

Interior is terrible...odd choice there. Mirrors look weird.
But the front end looks interesting and appears to have some solid workmanship. Are those our Nine8Six's lights?

This would look a lot better if he hadn't gone with black wheels. You need some contrast.
I would have experimented with a titanium color over matte black to give it some depth. But overall I think its cool that people show some creativity with mass produced and soon to be neglected Porsches.

As for $69K. I think he'd be luck to get anything near $30K. The fact that he hasn't listed any of the performance upgrades must mean there aren't many to speak of. I don't think bodywork is going to get you a $50K premium.

p.s.
Only in Miami...

I think you get both sides of the coin. IMHO, South Florida has any other part of the country beat by a mile on the volume and caliber of sports cars. But it also has the most reckless use of bad taste ever seen since the combustion engine was born.
Even the gaudy Jesus Christ stencils on the headlights and shag rug interior low riders in East LA have some standards they abide by.

Yes, there are many nice expensive sports cars here, which makes it a great place to buy used, there is a glut of used sports cars. Thats how I got mine for $7500 over two years ago!

Late 90s, early 2000s Jaguar XK dash and center console. It looks like the steering wheel still has the "cat" logo on it. Sorry but Yuk!

If this was the goal, I'd say that he missed the mark...

I have to say that I like the profile. No crazy about everything else, though. I'm glad someone id'ed the dash. I was going to guess Impala.

Perfectlap 01-21-2014 10:08 AM

^ well the steering wheel was a dead give away. What was that guy thinking.

Porsche9 01-21-2014 10:17 AM

Wannabe car. If he reLly spent that amount of money then he is a fool.

rp17 01-21-2014 11:20 AM

Is this guy serious on the price? :barf::barf::barf:

trimer 01-21-2014 11:52 AM

I have stood next to this car once. He has been in Jacksonville...actually has a jacksonville phone number. It's a pile of crap really. Not completed, nothing looks right, paint is terrible and is basically a boxster with nice wheels.

Perfectlap 01-21-2014 11:56 AM

Apparently there's a 918 Spyder kit for Boxsters in the works.

Only worth a lot to the guy who did all that work. Massive project but " God is in the details".
