Source of Boxster factory service manual

I am trying to find a source (hopefully free, online) for the boxster factory service manual. There is a link in this forum but it is dead.
My immediate need that would help is an assembly drawing and parts list of the air intake path, beginning with the air intake, air filter, MAF, throttle body to the head. I am trying to track down an (apparent) vacuum leak on the air intake side and I don't have a smoke machine. Any suggestions/pointers are appreciated.
No codes are being thrown and the CEL is off.
Thanks

Service manuals available

Trying to spread the word but https://charm.li has service manuals for 97 to 2013 Boxster and others Porsche made over that time, along with many many other cars and trucks.

Considering that even Porsche did not print any service manuals after the 2003 model year, whatever they are pushing is questionable at best, and while they may contain snippets from the earlier models (much like other websites that have partial manuals for the very earliest cars), they probably do not have all the 1997 - 2003 updates and corrections, which are literally hundreds of pages alone.

Old, out of date, or incorrect manuals can actually be worse than none at all. Go with the Bentley unit.

How did Porsche inform dealer techs.

I am interested in the comment that Porsche didn’t publish any service or repair manuals.

How did they disseminate the necessary information to Porsche dealer technicians? Was it distributed only via CD’s or online? Considering the IT technology from 1997 to 2004, it would seem some printed material would have been available.

I am interested because I am traveling to Germany soon and have a factory tour reserved. My German is decent so am interested in a tech manual both for practical use and as a souvenir.

When Porsche updated their PIWIS factory diagnostic system in 2003-4, they moved from printed manuals to an entirely online system called TSI. Because the PIWIS system went from a free-standing unit to a 100% networked system (to prevent cloning or theft of their intellectual property) that was lease only, they included the TSI part of the $20,000 (first year) lease cost.

I always chuckle when people ask about Porsche tech manuals and the fact that they are no longer in print. What they overlook is that when they were in print, they were bloody expensive; a full set of the 13 volume 986 service manuals set would have set you back about $3,000 in the day, plus another $2,800 for the OBD II diagnostics manual. As someone who purchased the 996, 986, turbo, and OBD II manuals for shop reference purposes when they were in print, I can tell anyone interested that these some 30 volumes both take up a lot of self-space, and required that new or updated information had to be indexed into manuals to keep them current; making the back room at the shop look more like a library than a store room.

I still occasionally see them for sale, typically for about $2K for the set.

I missed the OP, but in case anyone hasn't already seen it, you can view factory parts diagrams here for the 986, and they also have diagrams from 1950 to 2017 for other models. Quite useful at times.

Several Porsche dealers, like Sunset in Oregon, or Delaware Porsche have their entire parts system available to search online, complete with diagrams and other useful information, and are always kept current.

It looks like the forum stripped the URL, its auto atlanta for reference.
