Adding bigger speakers to doors
 

Has anyone installed larger speakers in their doors? I have a ‘97 986 and would like to add metal to support behind the door card and add a spacer to the outside (over the carpet). I would appreciate any help. Thanks!

yes - no need to go outside door card either as can easily accommodate. Make a new mount out of pdf/plywood and secure in original location (use the OEM "tuned ports" as template. I installed 6.75" round with plenty room left over...

Bigger issue/weakness is amplifier and crossover built into that piece.
