DIY: NEW Style Porsche shaped remote key fob
http://986forum.com/forums/diy-project-guides/56773-3rd-party-keyless-entry-diy-why-not.html
My 986 has no remote key. After installing this cheap 3rd party keyless, I decided to swap into Porsche shaped remote! Looks like 3rd party remote PCB can fit in to new style OEM Porsche Key. Kinda straight forward job, but need a Dremel tool to make this done easier. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1610947013.jpg Comparing Keys. Purchased Porsche remote key at $22.97 with shipping. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02/21610947176.jpg Dissemble Porsche shaped key. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02/31610947461.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02/41610947543.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02/51610947844.jpg Use Dremel to grind them to fit 3rd party remote PCB! Rubber switch needs to be extended. You can use 3rd party remote's rubber and glue them. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02/61610947908.jpg After assemble them, there are little gaps at the middle. I could get rid of that gaps, but decided to use like this. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02/71610947967.jpg Red LED location seems okay! Unlock button is Lock on 3rd party remote PCB and Lock button is Unlock. But better shape! |
