Removing Tiptronic Valve Body

Hey guys. My o-rings on the harness that sticks out the side of the trans case have gone flat and it's seeping oil. Unfortunately, you can't pull the plug inward to replace the o-rings without removing the valve body. There's just no enough clearance. I've tried to find this information online, but it seems no one has done this before on this car. I should note that my car is a 2001 S with the Tiptronic trans.

Firstly, carefully remove the 6 solenoid connectors and the 7th odd connector at the end. These will be brittle. Free the harness from the bottom side of the valve body. Don't worry about the harness connections on the top-side. You'll disconnect those after lowering the valve body.

Next, there are 17 bolts to remove in total. They are all T40. As a rule of thumb, if it's not a T40, then don't remove it. All will be the same length, with the exception of one, which is circled green below.

Pictured below is the bolt circled in green, which is somewhat hidden.

The valve body is pretty heavy. I recommend having a helper. After lowering it, simply disconnect the remaining connections between the harness and the valve body, and it should be free.

Hope this helps somebody out there. I scratched my head for a while on this one.
