I have the same oil catch pan. After the first time I used it and splashed oil all over the place I modified it. I made the hole about 4 inches across, then i got some wire mesh and cut it to fit the whole size of the pan. No more splash. The wire mesh keeps the plug from going into the pan if you were to drop it. Works like a charm.
