How do you do this? I want to replace mine. Does the old one just rip off? New one just glues on? thanks much for the help !

I snapped mine a few years ago when a towel got caught when drying the car. It is attached with 2x tape and can be removed with fishing line or dental floss, then you have to remove the adhesive residue. I did not replace it because I like the 'de-badged' look. Since it had been on the car for 6 or 7 years already, I had to wet sand and polish the area to make it look good. If you are putting on a new one, I suspect in comes with 2x tape already applied and ready to stick on.

I also used a heat gun to remove the remaining residue/gunk sticky tape. Afterwards then used clay bar to smooth down any imperfections. Depending on how many years the original badge was on, you might still see an outline of the old one on the paint. Good Luck!

I used a blow dryer to heat the glue under the logo then, after you can move the letters just a little with your hands, I used dental floss to remove them from the glue. Cleaned up the residue with some Goo Gone (just use the auto formula--you can find in your typical auto parts store, not the home one) and some muscle... clean surface with soap and water, let dry, and apply new letters. Take your time to ensure you don't damage your paint... good luck.

I have a sticker. well stickers plural on my trunk lid. That spell out prosche. They are slowly starting to peel away. I dont think i would mind just leaving it blank. What would you guys recommend to not damage the paint, but to remove the stickers and glue completely?

Not sure what others used, but I used some pretty strong solvents to get mine off, paint is a lot tougher then folks realize. I then used my normal 4 step process to compound and polish it back to a beautiful deep gloss.

It is spelled Right PORSCHE

use fishing line and dental floss, if there is residue use a rubber wheel and a drill and it will come off spotless. You can find a rubber wheel at most paint shops.

Ya not sure the 986 would improve on that nice clean look you got. Regarding the WD40...you don't even want to know what I used...as I said before paint is pretty tough and any one good with a random orbital can bring it back to like new after the sticky stuff is removed.

If there is no badge how do you know where the badges go? Is there a template or spacing that tells you how far from the edges to put it?

This is what is used in medical settings to remove adhesives and not traumatize or damage skin. The really funny thing is the box it comes in has all the hazard warning labels. I haven’t had any surface damage on humans, pets, cars, boats, or planes. Might work for you?
