Pedal extension!
Hello guys!
After more than a year behind the wheel of a 986... I still struggle sometime with rev-matching downshifts... I looked at pedal extensions, and, well, Porsche prices :/ So, I made mine: http://nsa38.casimages.com/img/2016/...0814431905.jpg It's just a plastic prototype, and I used the screws I had laying around... And I had to cut a piece off it... so it looks terrible from behind! http://nsa37.casimages.com/img/2016/...1445174447.jpg I haven't tested yet (I did a test with piece of wood taped to the pedal... and it worked great). I'll work on it a little to make it easier to install, with the right screws... This one is made the same way I made the plenum, but can be made out of stainless steel and steel for not much (around 30$) while a plastic one should be around 10. Tell me what you think! (except if you say that the fixation I used looks ghetto, I already know ^^) Ben. |
Hey, whatever gets the job done!
I have the Rennline set but your solution looks pretty good. Well done. |
Can you do it in aluminum?
|
Thank you :)
I wasn't able to test it fully on my daily commute, but should be good! It is possible to do in aluminum, but it's too exepensive to justify it. I really think the nylon one is strong enough! I'll make it available at the end of the week, just to make sure there's no problem that I haven't seen yet :) Ben. |
Hi!
After a few days of use... it seems that the problem doesn't come from the pedal being too narrow but me being a worse pilot than I thought :p I'll check the position of the pedal, I think it's not completely seated under the carpet. Though, it might be good for some of you! So I made some modifications, and it is available for you! The first one will pay the cost price because I updated the file, and it is now a "beta" product. Don't worry, it is 100% printable! here is the link: Pedal Extension (SLZEAQCA2) by Ben006 Ben. |
Hi guys!
It's been more than a month, and the extension has performed pretty good so far, I've gotten use to it and I like it now :) Ben. |
