Painting Calipers Red

I'm a pretty good artist but just a very BASIC mechanic... :)
I'm considering painting my brake calipers red on my 986 but I really don't want to remove them in fear of running into the possibility of messing up some of the braking components up. (I've done brake jobs on VWs long ago but that was long ago). I may just remove the wheels and hand paint/spray them myself...has anyone ever done them by hand? Any recommendations? Any advice?

Take a look here, if I can do it, so can you. You can buy the decals off of eBay. This really is an easy, fun project that makes a huge difference for minimal cost IMO.

Easy...I did get a bit of overspray on the floor, but it cleaned up easily.
