Which wheels do you like better???

I've finally found some wheels that I think I'll put on my 2001 Boxster. I'm upgrading to 19" but I'm a bit torn...here are some illustrations of what I'm debating. There are 2 slightly different ones that I'm debating...all thoughts are welcome.

The ones on the FRONT or REAR????

I like the fronts but then I have simple(r) tastes.

Fronts look more period correct design wise but should be one size smaller to 'fit' perfect visually.

Good luck :)

Front looks better.

Since you did say all thoughts are welcome, I tend to prefer wider spokes to thin ones.

Ruf makes some cool rims and I am a sucker for phone dials and turbo twists.

From the picture you have, I do prefer front to back.

Contrarian that I am, I like the rear one better :) . I think it adds some pizzazz.

Front ones

Rear, and I have to lengthen this post to get it to post.

Front and do it in 18". If you do it in 19" it will look like its on silts without an appropriate change to the ride height.

+ Fronts

The fronts, and as has been said, they should be smaller.

wheel dilema

Wow...I appreciate the feedback everyone. I'm STILL torn, I'm leaning towards the back because they are "Boxster Spyder" look-a-likes and the finish is a bit brighter. I believe that the front ones more of a matte or machine finish.

Most of your are saying go 18 instead of 19???
I got the idea of 19s from this forum as it seems that most people are upgrading to that size with no ride problems. I guess I better do some more research :D

I'll take a slightly smaller tire for better road smoothness any day - then again, I'm not a performance driver who's pushing the car to it's limits.

Also depends on the type of roads you have. They aren't the nicest up here with our winters - so like some extra rubber on there.

As for the wheels below - if I had to choose, I would go with the fronts. Not a fan of the narrow spokes on the back.

I prefer the front as well.

Rear looks fantastic.

Rear ones look better in my opinion, less spokes are more sporty

I prefer the fronts in an 18. I don't like 19's only because of the weight penalty. I've seen a few 19's on boxsters and they seem to give the appearance that the car has been slightly lowered without actually lowering the car.

doctorm3 01-01-2016 04:12 AM

Definitely the fronts!

Carlisabadman986 01-05-2016 09:13 AM

I prefer the rears. They look more unique

This is the worst DIY Project Guide I've ever seen.

I like them BOTH! Can't we all just get along??
