RMS...Curil T or no Curil T?

The Pelican instructions say to put a light coat of Curil T on the RMS before installing. Other here say that all of the surfaces must be absolutely clean. Which is right?

If you are using the latest PTFE seal, absolutely not. This seal is meant to go in dry with no sealants of any kind, which can and will cause the seal to leak.
