new radio resets when power is off
Hi everyone.
I have a small hiccup on my quest for better sound. I installed dash speakers a couple of weeks ago, and last night swapped out the factory head unit for a new Pioneer with bluetooth, USB, etc.. It sounds pretty good but I miss the factory look of the Becker. The problem is the radio resets/loses memory when the ignition is turned off. I wired the factory harness as directed so I'm not sure what is going on. I watched a Youtube video where a guy suggested swapping the red and yellow wires connections between the harness and radio din. I'm somewhat afraid to do this. Any ideas? |
You need to reverse the red and yellow wire. The red is the switched power and the yellow is constant. I.made the same mistake.

Thanks! I'll give it a go tonight.

+1 for the solution. I had the same issue when I installed my JVC head unit last year.

I'm installing a double din Pioneer with a Eurosport kit. Will I need to do this as well?

Yes you will
