Door speakers
The plant is on shutdown in a couple of weeks so I plan to do a few projects on the Boxstar while on vacation. I do not have door speakers but want to install them. I haven't pulled the panels off yet so was wondering if the wiring is already there for speakers? I have a Kenwood head unit with a Crutchfield supplied connector to the original wiring harness so I hope it would just be a matter of connecting the speakers to the existing wiring without running wires.
Other plans are install new starter, clean the throttle body, possibly cold air intake and add OBC and garage door opener. |
Just in case anyone wants to know, the wiring ain't there or the door panel cut out. Obviously not made in Japan. In Japanese cars, they give you everything but the switch. Now I have to figure out the mountings.

you can find the door speaker enclosures on eBay, probably door panels as well
If you do a Google search, IIRC, there is a DIY for adding them To add the wires will be a PITA. In addition to running the wire, you may need to add pins to the connectors in the door The door speakers are subs. I am thinking of putting a powered sub under the right seat. The problem is the space under the seat is about 3/4 in to shallow, so I need to raise the seat tracks |

On the plus side, my soldering and wire-fishing skills have vastly improved through the Boxster modification process. Good luck with your project. |
