Having issues with your convertible top mechanism drive gears?

Pelican Parts would like to offer one 986forum member a free set of convertible top mechanism gears for that member to install and review here with the community.

Reply here if you know your convertible top issues are directly related to your drive gears of your '97 - '11 Boxster. First to respond who's willing to complete the above will receive the set (1 left and 1 right drive gear).

The gears are manufactured by Odometer Gears and display the high-quality in material and finish you've come to expect from these folks.

Hey folks, this is Jeff @ Odometergears. I've donated these parts through Pelican in the hopes that they help someone. If the person that gets them will contact me so I know how they work and we can develop a quality FAQ that would be great. My goal is to help the community fix their own vehicles and save a bunch of money over the dealer. You can call me anytime at 757-593-3478.

Thank you again for volunteering.

Jeff

I need these gears!

If the offer is still up, I would love to do a faq on this! Just so happens, both of my gears on my 2001 Boxster S need replacing! They "jump" and top gets out of alignment, also causing extra stress on motor. All else appears in good working order. Please let me know either way! I was looking at Pelican to order these, but it shows out of stock on the right side one. Thank you both, Jeff and Mark

Any update ? Curious; how common is it for the gears needing replacement.
