Hardtop/Speedster Hump mounting

Okay, I am trying to install the mounting kit for the hardtop/speedster humps. The Porsche Maintenance manuals are useless. They simply stated R/R, remove/replace. The Pelican instructions are not much better. Obviously the spin locks are not difficult to install, however, how do I get the shoulder bolts into the side of the chassis holes, to secure the spin locks ? The convertible top side arm is in the way, no matter what position I place the top in. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I paid my Indie to do it. Took him 15min. Having done it many times before he was a pro at it. Best money spent to avoid the skinned knuckles and the frustration of trying to get my big hands in there as there is no real easy way of doing it.

When I installed mine, I secured the shoulder bolt to my socket wrench with a piece of clear plastic wrap. The plastic wrap is placed around the bolt and the wrench so that it stays on the wrench while you maneuver it into position. After you tighten the bolt, you just rip off the plastic to free the wrench.

Good luck.

I did the bag thing on the passenger side but the drivers side gave me a bit of trouble. I removed the carpet trim piece. There`s a screw near the bottom in the carpet and a hex head screw near the defroster plug.Made it a lot easier.
