Will 99-01 996 bumper bolt on to '02 986?

I have a line on a used 996 911 bumper and even though it looks the same I don't want to drive 2 hours each way to find out it won't work.

Thank you.

It depends on what year it is. Starting in 2002 i believe the headlights were changed on the 996.

The ad is for 996 911 parts and in the parts list it says:
- Oem front bumper from 99-01 carrera.

You're good - it will bolt right up. 996 headlights changed in 2002. Spec Boxster racers use the 996 front bumper a lot on their cars.

Do it - it's a pretty good looking addition to the Boxster. While you're at it, look for a 996 splitter - it makes a good look even better.

No - I don't sugar-coat for anybody, ever. None of that PC polite crap for me (unless you earn it).
