My DRL/Parking light idea...take it. I don't want it anymore.

So, I had this bright idea. I think it would look awesome and unique if the light would span the entire turn signal portion.

I spent most the day fabricating a mount for the CCFLs, only to decide that it was to time consuming and still needed some refinement. Tomorrow is my last day to finish this projector install project, so I've given up. After the holiday, it's back to work and school, so I just don't have the time to finish this. Maybe someone else can take this idea and run with it.

Yes, the turn signal still shows up fine. The two lights don't interfere with each other at all.

Really look good for a prototype overview, can easily imagine what the final result would be. Brilliant.

Arggg next time let me know about stuff like that. I could have taken the dim of the led strip and CNC you a injection mold for a housing that ties up to the screw mounts below the flasher :/ e.g. poor silicon into the mold, let dry 48hrs and you are laughing.

I might have to give this one a look next time I have a set of 986 headlights around, and opened. Great idea

Where did my pictures go? Photobucket...gotta love it! Edit: added back one of the original pics to first post.

Anyhow, I'm taking this one back. Its mine! :D
Please ignore the bugs. I had just returned from a 4 hour drive :o
The drivers side of my hood looks high...I will have to check that out.

Thanks Tommy! :D

I have to admit, this is one of my more barbaric mods. For the sake of simplicity and being able to change the bulb without removing the outer lens, I did this craziness;

Thanks Jay!

Sadly, they only add about 8.3HP combined. :D

Loveeee the side markers. Get a 3D printer so you can design/make a built-in module and please manufacture those for us. I want (need) them

Thanks Bruce! I may do a quick write up, but in my haste I didn't take many pictures :(

I actually had plans for making some. I considered buying up old amber side markers (got a few sets), vacu-forming clear lenses and attaching them to the OEM base plate.
However, I doubt that any vacu-formed plastic would be hard enough.
I kind of stalled on the idea. I really wanted to use CCFLs, but for some reason, they are impossible to find in amber.

I have my old set of amber side markers still sitting in that old pcar parts box. I'll ship those to you just so you have more to prototype onto

Charles - I have a couple of pair of orange side markers I can send you. PM me your address and I'll send them to you.

Rick

That's a very generous offer, Rick!
I'll take you up on that ;)
