Painting Calipers other than Red or Yellow
Yes yes, I know, already TONS of threads out there on caliper painting. However, it seems that everyone does red or yellow which is understandable as they are classic colors. Though I am wondering if anyone has any examples of calipers they (or pics you have found) of boxsters with some more.... exotic colors.
I have an Arctic Silver 986 with the 5 spoke "blade" wheels that I am thinking of painting dark grey, mostly because I am tired of brake dust.... But I want to touch up the calipers with something other than Red. Yellow is a possibility, but I am leaning towards orange, green, or some other brighter color. Anyone have any examples?! |
From a google image search...not Porsche, but gives an example. I like the neon green :)

I've been googling for days trying to find some examples of what I think might be cool. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1355492005.jpg

So many options! |
I love the color orange.
I'd say "no" to yellow, since this implys PCCB's, which you don't have. BIG REDS on Artic Silver is ALWAYS a great look. Consider staying with what you have, and redo, or just redo the clear coat. Use The Armor All Wheel Protectant spray to repell brake dust. Research some of the classic bright blue Porsche colors like, Riviera Blue, Mexico Blue, and Terquoise Blue. These could look great, too. |

I think orange is the way to go here... |

Pedro, I was trying to find more pics of your brakes! Thanks for posting them.
Now after seeing this picture, I kinda like green too...http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1355508529.jpg |
^Porsche calls that color Acid Green.

1) You need clear corners up front.
2) The red looks best, IMO. 3) What about doing the calipers in Artic Silver?? |
+1 with Red.
I did my center caps with a touch of yellow, but then again I have got a speed yellow Boxster. http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/p...cheLEDs005.jpg http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/p...tercaps002.jpg Guvs. |
I still say neon or "acid" green. More neon than your last pic...like the one in your previous post.
|
Go Burnt orange if you don't like red.
|
Try googling MG XPower green
